It stands about 14,980 feet tall and climbing it is an adventure that takes about six days. If you\u2019re looking for a quieter place with fewer people than Kilimanjaro, Mount Meru is perfect. While you walk, you might see lots of birds\u2014nearly 400 different kinds! There are also monkeys and sometimes even leopards.<\/span><\/p><p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The path up Mount Meru can be pretty steep and you&#8217;ll cross several streams. You&#8217;ll walk through different kinds of areas like grassy fields, deep rainforests, high meadows, and dry, rocky places. Near the top, it gets really cold and snowy. When you finally reach the summit, you\u2019ll see amazing views, especially of the Ash Cone down in the crater.<\/span><\/p><p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Mount Meru is great if you like exciting climbs and enjoying nature quietly, away from crowds.
