circuit is in the northern part of the park, where roads cross open grassland, acacia woodland, palms, and waterholes. The <strong>Tanzam Highway<\/strong> runs through <strong>Mikumi<\/strong>, so some areas feel busier. Still, the southern side has a more remote feel.<\/p><p><strong>Mikumi<\/strong> works well as a short safari from <strong>Dar es Salaam<\/strong> or as a stop before <strong>Ruaha<\/strong>. It lies along the route between Dar es Salaam and Ruaha, making it a useful stop for travelers with limited time. The <strong>Mkata Floodplain<\/strong> offers wide views reminiscent of the <strong>Serengeti<\/strong>, with zebra, wildebeest, buffalo, giraffe, elephant, and antelope often seen. Lions and hyenas are possible too, though not always easy.
