Mount Meru is one of Africa's most beautiful volcanoes, and it is the second highest mountain in Tanzania at 4,5685m, the fifth highest in Africa.
The mountain is located within Arusha National Park, Tanzania's gem. This prime location gives walkers the opportunity to spot some of the birds and View that inhabit the area. Many climbers prefers to do 4 Days Mount Meru Climb for those who are physically fit. The ascend is quite steep, the route to the summit passes over streams, through parkland, montane forest, a giant heather zone and moorland. The summit is reached by a narrow, barren ridge, which provides stunning views of the Ash Cone lying several thousand feet below in the crater.
We drive from Arusha to Momela Gate. After a short registration at the Gate, our walk will begin with full armed ranger escorting us, simply we can see along the way the wild animals including elephants, zebras, giraffes, monkeys, antelope, and often elephants along the route.
Dinner and overnight night at Miriakamba Hut.

We start early at around 1:30 a.m. for 4 days Mount Meru hike steeply to Rhino Point (3,800 m.) and on to Cobra Point (4350m). We reach the summit (4,566 m) on time for sunrise there is a possibility to see Kilimanjaro Peak above the clouds. The final part of the climb is along a spectacular narrow ridgeline between the sheer inner cliffs and the sloping outer wall of the crater.
We take a short rest and brunch at Saddle Hut before continuing the descent to the Meriakamba Hut.

According to our experts, climbing Mount Meru is considered moderately strenuous. This is because some parts of the trail are complex. However, one thing to note is that the climb is shorter than Kilimanjaro. Therefore, we recommend doing this climb as a pre-acclimatisation trek before climbing Mount Kilimanjaro.
No, you don't need any technical climbing expertise before. But if you're in good shape and used to long walks, the ascent will be more fun.
Along the way, you will stay in mountain huts. These are simple yet comfortable accommodations, featuring communal bathrooms and other amenities that keep you safe from the elements on the mountain.
You can see giraffes, zebras, buffaloes, monkeys, and possibly elephants in the lower stages of the hike, as the mountain is located within Arusha National Park.
